PeopleMenders.com is an online job board and resource community specifically for healthcare professionals. Serving newcomers as well as seasoned providers, PeopleMenders is supported by a network of consultants across North America who, ‘merging expertise with opportunity’, offer professionals in the field access to employment as well as a host of helpful information resources.

The Challenge

PeopleMenders needed a robust, functionally-rich portal to help it remain a valued, competitive healthcare recruiter. To that end, the organization wanted to adopt a web solution with search-engine content optimization and an AJAX-based user interface (AJAX, or Asynchronous JavaScript And XML, is a web-development technique that helps increase the usability, speed and interactivity of web pages). PeopleMenders also wanted to display healthcare advertisements more effectively. Additional must-have features included a discussion forum, featured articles with commentary, and a fun zone for site users — all centrally managed and administered as easily as possible.

The SiteSystems Solution

To meet these requirements, SiteSystems selected the Sitecore Content Management System, along with Sitecore’s Forum and Search Engine Optimization Modules. The Microsoft .NET Framework and SQL Server database were also fully leveraged. Drawing from these technologies, SiteSystems developed a solution that, among other things, has enabled PeopleMenders to offer clients flexible advertising packages and, through a complex posting-application algorithm, has allowed for effective job-matching while supporting variable options related to privacy and confidentiality.
